Facility Maintenance

As communities consider how to safely re-open K-12 school buildings and in-person services, these guidance strategies can used by school administrators to help protect the health, safety, and well-being of students, teachers, and staff, their families, and communities, including promoting behaviors that reduce the spread of COVID-19, maintaining healthy environments and operations, and preparing for when someone gets sick.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) provides excellent guidance resources for cleaning and maintaining school facilities. Please see the Health and Safety Operations page for additional guidance and considerations for Staff and Student Wellness, and Health and Safety Protocols. The following guidance documents apply to all areas of a school facility.

Use of Cloth Face Coverings to Help Slow the Spread of COVID-19

A cloth face covering may or may not protect the wearer, but it may keep the wearer from spreading the virus to others. The CDC has provided information on how to wear a mask, remove a mask, clean a cloth mask and why we should wear one.
